Ready, Set, Go…Wait!  Are you ready?

Are you ready for Summer? Have you done everything on your “To Do” list before heading out for vacation? Is there anything you’re missing…like submitting the Meaningful Use Hardship Application?

We want you to be prepared for Summer and the chaos that sometimes comes with scheduling vacations. So, we are providing a convenient list of the hardships here. Check your status in the EHR Incentive Program to see if the Meaningful Use deadlines are something you need to act on, then send in the appropriate hardship application before the deadline.

There are four MU hardship applications to choose from with varying submission dates depending on your situation:

  1. Eligible Professionals (EPs) that have participated in MU in the past (returning participants) but were unable to meet MU for the 2016 reporting period:
    1. July 1, 2017 deadline
      1. 2018 EP Hardship Instructions
      2. 2018 EP Hardship Application
  2. Eligible Hospitals (EHs) that have participated in MU in the past (returning participants) but were unable to meet MU for the 2016 reporting period:
    1. July 1, 2017 deadline
      1. 2018 Eligible Hospital Hardship Instructions
      2. 2018 Eligible Hospital Hardship Application
  3. Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) that have participated in MU in the past (returning participants) but were unable to meet MU for the 2016 reporting period:
    1. November 30, 2017 deadline
    2. Note:  you may find conflicting information on the CMS website regarding the deadline to submit the CAH hardship application. We have confirmed the November 30th deadline with CMS.
      1. 2016 CAH Hardship Instructions
      2. 2016 CAH Hardship Application
  4. Eligible Professionals (EPs) that are new or have never successfully attested to MU in the past, and are transitioning to MIPS:
    1. October 1, 2017 deadline
      1. EP Hardship Instructions (Transitioning to MIPS)
      2. EP Hardship Application (Transitioning to MIPS)

If you are not familiar with the Meaningful Use program or processes for submitting a hardship application, or you are short on time and resources, contact us for assistance. We would be happy to take that task off your “To Do” list.
